What if a parking spot were a soul sitting and waiting to be filled with the
Holy Spirit? What if a playground brought joy to a child engulfed in
turmoil? On a mission trip to Zambia, Africa I witnessed a little girl
experiencing a swing for the very first time. Her face illuminated pure joy!
She had never felt such freedom, pleasure and comfort. As I watched her swing
higher and higher I couldn’t help but think, “The higher the swing, the closer
to Heaven.” Sometimes it is the simple things that build God’s Kingdom. When
concrete is built on faith and with the Lord it can do so much more than
provide a parking spot.
For where two or three gather
together as my followers, I am there among them. Matthew 18:20.
Heavenly Father,
All that we have is Yours and all that we do is for You. We ask You to breathe life and purpose into this project. We ask You to fill each parking spot week after week with people who have come to hear the gospel. We ask You to wrap Your tender arms around children as they experience joy through the playground.
