The Church in America faces several challenges. This week we will look at some of those challenges and perhaps, see ourselves and our church in the proverbial mirror.
1) Change… God has called the church to be the change agent in the world- Instead the world is changing the church.
2) Relevance… God desires to address the issues the world is facing. – The church is so disconnected from the world we don’t even know the issues.
3) Press Release… The people outside the church know what the church is against. – The purpose of the church is not even a thought in their mind…or ours much of the time.
4) Lost-ness… In America, only 2% of people ages 18 to 24 are Evangelical believers. – The traditional church in American is not even reaching Her children and grandchildren.
What must we do to change?
What must happen before we will change?
What will cause us to leave our comfort zones and change?
One word with two application starts with the letter L.
LOVE God more than ourselves
LOVE People. More than ourselves
Father, I ask you today to do what ever you must to make us relevant.
