"Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me."
-Psalm 23:4 (ESV)
If you have grown up in the church, chances are that you have read or heard this
passage. It is talking about that even in our darkest times, God is walking
with us through it. That He is with us, will never leave us or forsake us.
Also, if you give the job of writing a devotional to a worship pastor, chances
are he is going to reference a song somewhere in it. There is an incredible
song that we play on occasion titled “Never Once” by Matt Redman, a
Britain-based songwriter and worship leader. It is an incredible song about
God's faithfulness talking about this very concept that God has never left us
alone in our difficulty. The lyrics in the Chorus goes "Never once did we
ever walk alone, never once did You leave us on our own, You are faithful, God,
You are faithful." So as we go through this capital campaign in the life
of Casa View, be reminded that you can trust in God, because He is always
faithful, and He will never leave you on your own!
Father, thank You for your faithfulness and for
Your promise to never leave me when times get difficult. And in response of
Your faithfulness, I will be faithful to You. In Jesus Name, Amen.
